Well, some game reporters gave GTAIV a 96% or something, but that changed when Rockstar decided they deserved 100%. Send the hookers in !
But no seriously, this mod is by far one of the most pleasing. Specially because I love Fallout (even though I only placed 3, to the death...), but I rather like the Top-down style, just like in alien shooter.
So all in all : Keep up the good work !

Well there are two things which are in great abundance in Fallout...That's toilets and hookers. To some this may seem ironic
.
Now to a more appropriate topic...guess what day today is...that's right...THE NEWS UPDATE DAY!
See you all here tonight!

[Update] - Postworld - Mid October Update
Welcome to another progress update on our post-world modification "Postworld".
General Stuff
We are still in need of a web developer. If you are interested, there is a link to the recruitment thread at the end of the post.
On a brighter note, it looks like we got ourselves a Concept Artist. We are still talking but it looks promising. The problem is that the guy just wandered in from the wastes...so he tends to glow in the dark a bit. Ain is concerned, but the rest of us feel that it's just a case of mild radiation poisoning.
Of'cos if he starts 'ghouling' we gona hafta shoot 'im.
Mod Progress
Work on the HUD is getting into high gear. The Main panel that we showed off last time is pretty much done. Ain is putting finishing touches on the geometry, and I'm trying to get Flash stuff finalised. As before you can find a playable .swf version of it on our blog. We really wanted to make a video of an in-game HUD test but unfortunately due to some technical difficulties we didn't. We will probably get it sorted by our next news update.
Anyway, as you will see in the flash movie, we added a bunch of effects to the Main panel's Info Screen. Now it behaves exactly like one would expect a TV, made from a ton of chipso-crap Chinese parts, to behave after 80 years of service. All buttons work and the HUD is able to communicate with the game's engine, and the engine can now reply in kind. You can knock yourselves out with the fancy test buttons and stuff. Give it a go and leave some comments and/or criticism on the blog thread. We would love to know what you guys and gals think about the usability part of it, just keep in mind that not all of the flash functionality is in yet.
Oh, we've also future proofed it against obscene resolutions, so it can now support even those 26" inch monsters.
Lots and lots of new FG nodes are in the pipeline. Most of them have to do with HUD functionality, however we are also starting to design those that deal with Playable and Non Playable character's stats, skills, inventory and whatnot...and you what that means.
We have also decided what HUD panel we're going to work on next. The Dialog Screen was the lucky winner of our rather short selection process. Here is a shot of what the original one looks like:
I'm sure we will have lots of fun facelifting this thing. Well at least me and Dead Smile are, Ain is going to get the business end of this proverbial stick, as per usual. So expect to see more of the HUD and less of him at the end of this month.
Well that's all for today. We will see you all again in two weeks.

[Update] - Postworld - October Update
Welcome to this month's progress update on our ghoul-milking modification "Postworld".
General Stuff
I'm sure you've all heard this before...GIEF WEB DEVELOPER!...the recruitment thread link is at the end of the post. There are two must-have requirements for this position: successful candidate must have hands and brains. Other appendages and/or qualities will be considered an advantage.
The Concept Artist thing fell through. Ain's unnatural animal magnetism and charm played their part, and the fact that DeadSmile is...well...dead, didn't help either.
We also had a bit of misfortune with the folks from Bethesda. Yeah, those mutants decided it wasn't cool for us to name our mod Fallout: Rebirth. I guess a fan made Fallout mod on an engine that is orders of magnitude better than the one powering Fallout 3 didn't sit well with Todd. As unpleasant as that was we got over it pretty quick and renamed the mod to Postworld. We will probably stick with this name until we are ready to release the mod.
Not everything went south in the past two weeks though. We got ourselves a nice WordPress hosting plan with GoDaddy.com. The site is getting setup slowly but surely. Once we get the theme and all the art work finalized we will move all our content there. The blog and the public website will be merged into one and we will use that site as the official mod site.
We thought it would be better, not to mention easier, to maintain one site rather than three. In the mean time we will continue posting regular updates here as before.
Mod Progress
We are still working hard on the HUD. The main panel is still "almost" done. Some flash stuff is not finished yet, and by the looks of it we may have to update the design of the panel itself a bit. Ain had done some amazing things with the new Dialog panel that we promised to show you in this update. We keep our promises
.
First things first, a shot of the good 'ol original:
And now, our version of it:
Here is an in-game test shot:
Although it's still far from perfect, we thought you guys would like the screens. I don't know about you but my jaw was on the floor when I first saw this thing.
As much as I would like to tell you all the things we have planned for this particular panel, I'll keep my mouth shut for now. We got something cool in store for you guys, but that's for the next update.
That's all for today. We will see you all again in two weeks.

[Update] - Postworld - Mid November Update
Welcome to this month's progress update on our highly mutated modification " Postworld".
General Stuff
Not a lot happened since our last update. DeadSmile and I had a crunch week at work. Ain also decided to take a short break from it all (actually he had to clean his vault). Website didn't get any attention these past two weeks either. By the looks of things we are probably going to keep it on ice until the first tech demo is ready for release.
So, all in all, not a whole lot got done.
On a brighter note some Fallout fans had contacted us offering to help out with the project. We also got lots of encouragement from the good folks at No Mutants Allowed.
It's great to know that there are so many people out there who are just as exited about this project as we are. We would like to thank everyone who offered to help, sent emails, left comments on our forum threads or simply visited them. Your support means a lot to us.
Considering the size and complexity of this project we decided to work on it in parts or modules if you will. Each one of these modules will basically cover a set of closely related game features. Once all of the modules are complete we will start working on the actual game content. Originally, we planned to release a tech demo once all of the modules were feature complete. But with all of the positive feedback we've been getting, we decided to release a demo once a particular module is finished. This way you guys get to try it (read: debug it for us) and we get to see what works and what doesn't (read: get to blame it all on you in the end).
So, starting today there will be a new section, in our fortnightly updates, where we will discuss upcoming tech demos and some of their features.
Tech Demo I: Dialogs
The Dialog demo will cover...well...dialogs
. While we are continuing to work on the HUD in general we've also started to put together some other basic functionality. Stuff like: point and click player control, a bit of AI, camera control etc. That said, here is a list of the stuff that will most likely make it into the first demo:
- Basic player movement control system
- Player initiated dialogs
- Item information system
- Interactive HUD panels: Main, Dialog
- Dark post-apocalyptic humour
- A few spelling mistakes
We are really hoping to get this thing ready for release by Christmas. However, the odds of us making that happen aren't great. I guess we'll just wait and see.
Mod Progress
As I've already mentioned, work on the HUD continues. The main panel is no longer "almost" done, it's now actually "very" done. The dialog panel on the other hand is still a construction site, but we did manage to get it working in the game. Here is a screenshot from the editor:
As you can see we added a bit of Depth of Field and also colour corrected it a little. So, when the dialog is initiated the player will see the dialog administration and management device aka DAaMnD. The image outside of the device gets blurred and darkened, while the screen itself gives off that nice toxic glow. The overall effect is pretty cool, well at least we think so.
Like I said before this thing is still under heavy construction, so not all of the effects are in and the overall design is not yet finalised.
This is not all though. We did a bit more than just play with the HUD. Here are some screens of Nomad going ape**** for your viewing pleasure.
*** Official Disclaimer: Nomad will not be featured in Postworld ***
Although combat is not yet turn-based it's still awesome to shoot badies. Even though we are not planing to include any combat in the first tech demo I thought you guys would still like to see what it will be like when we get combat stuff sorted. Besides you are probably sick of those Vault tileset shots anyway.
Well that's all for today. We will see you all again in two weeks.

RE: [Update] - Postworld - Last Crymod update
Hey Guys,
It's been a while. The reason for our prolonged absence is that we switched engines. The project has grown immensely both in terms of what we expect to achieve and get out of it.
I would like to thank everyone who helped us on our long and sometimes painful journey with CE and everyone who took the time to read our updates
.
I don't know if it's within this forum's rules to discuss other engines so I wont. All I can say is that this is no longer a mod but our own game. We hope that some day it will actually get released.
If anyone is interested in keeping track of our progress you can visit our blog or the No Mutants Allowed news thread here.
Mods kindly close this thread.
Good luck guys.
