UltimaRage's Misc. textures (POM too!)
I'll be releasing a small texture pack (5-6 POM-ready textures) soon, including this one.

I've also discovered that POM-enabled textures work fine using 3Dc compression, so the normal/height alpha file for this texture is 512x512, and only 430 kb! The diffuse is compressed using DXT1; all of my textures will follow this format.
I tried a 1024x1024 version of the normal/height data for POM, but surprisingly enough, the height changes are accentuated much better using a 512x512 resolution, for this texture anyways. I am sure it may be different with other textures.

Now, this is strange - 3Dc is a bit selective.
Sometimes, using it will produce a POM-viable texture, and other times it will not.
The times it does store the alpha information, it works great and reduces the file size dramatically over Crytif (which doesn't appear to compress files at all)... so you can see why I'd prefer to use 3Dc, but with it not being consistent, I'm not sure...
EDIT: Never mind, I've figured it out.
Second texture for the pack...

Wow, very nice work here. Mind if this gets used in the NI mod, if the level designers would like to use it?

Thanks guys. Only a couple more and I will release this pack. Going to create another forest texture, a dirt texture, and 3 cliff textures... and that will be that.

awww why are we limited to 15/16 terrain textures, your ones are so awesome and I want to use them all at the same time!
Can you take screenshots from further distance so we can see how they tile, please?

Not bad.
Maybe a video with them in action?
@ Squiggers:
Ultima did not make the engine, but he obviously learnt a lot from experimenting with it. And it's not Maoli anymore, it's Phase Engine.
