Message about the Editor/SDK
The Message
As most of you will already be aware we have not included our Sandbox Editor or MOD SDK with the disc for Crysis Warhead or Crysis Wars. We’re hoping that people appreciate the quality of the games that we have produced.
We wanted to make sure that people received the best game play experience in both single and multiplayer, so as such we decided to focus all of our energy and attention in that direction originally.
We are now working on the Editor and SDK solution for Warhead and Wars.
We are definitely aware that the community is eager to get this software, and we will provide it as soon as it is complete and available.
For now we hope you enjoy both the single player and multiplayer experiences provided until the Sandbox editor and ModSDK are released.
It is possible to play many of the custom levels that have been created for Crysis Multiplayer in Crysis Wars, so we encourage everyone to make use of the automatic map downloader and get hold of some of the great creations from the community and play them on the game servers.

Hello Forum,
good that the news is not called "News about the Editor/SDK", because there is nothing really new or only that Crytek starts working on it. It is really sadly how a company went in a year from Modding Support from the Pre Release Demo to a Post Release Editor.

Being fair to them, you can still use the existing Sandbox editor to make stuff for Wars in the meantime.

wow now we now... NOTHING that wasnt said before. And:
"We are now working on the Editor and SDK solution for Warhead and Wars."
WTF man? NOW? more than a week after release you BEGIN to care about modding?
A statement should be made 3 months before the game even releases.
Sorry but im mad.

Good to read
I bought Warhead today, so I think I'll play Warhead + Wars until the Editor/SDK is released

Well that's cool, but not really as necessary as I think people are making it out to be.
Just use the old editor for now, and let's see how many maps people start playing.

It's not just that there's no true sb2 support. It's the mods. Alot of projects would love to switch to Warhead/Wars for the obvious benefits, but can't do so because of the lack of a SDK. Not to mention that new projects can't get off the ground for this game.

Yeah, I think some people just want to be able to still complain. If they had finished the editor before releasing the game, they'd be complaining about how long it took them to make the game. Get a grip, guys..just use the old editor. Not everything has to always be shiny.

Oh NO!!!! The Horror!!! They must have planned this all along to make us unhappy!! Curse them!!
That is aimed at the complainers that want to find the negative in everything. I am personally happy with Warhead and Wars at the moment. Am I disappointed that I cannot start using the new editor yet? Sure. Does that mean that Crytek are evil and taking my money laughing all the while at my discomfort? No. I would really hate to be a developer because I have never been on any game forum where there are not some people who are determined to badmouth the company for "Not supporting the community" because said company didn't deliver exactly what that person wants on that person's specific schedule!
It's not that I think that people should not be allowed to complain. That would infringe on people's right to spout their opinions. The problem with freedom of speech is that it doesn't guarantee that people have anything intelligent to say!
I know. I know. I am complaining myself. I’m just practicing my freedom.
Anyway, I'm sure I will incite a whirlwind of indignant responses from the whiners and complainers!
Please keep in mind that I am not aiming this at those of you who have simply posted your eagerness to get the editor. I am solely talking about the annoying posts badmouthing Crytek. They get a bit sickening. I guess that's just the "14 year old living in Mom's basement" factor.

... hmm... ive already run my CQB mod through Crysis Warhead and it works perfectly fine mwhahaha... obviously in terms of the coding we will the Crysis Warhead source code if anything major has changed?
Also to note Crytek please work on the random bugs of Sandbox [mine has randomly become unstable and wont start most of the time]. Please fix the bugs while your upgrading.
