1 1/2 weeks ago i started to create a new map. This is after Treasure and Cold Mountain now my third one.
the map has a surface of 4096x4096 (step ratio is 2, so it is like 8124x8124).
the half of that surface is free accessible.
in this thread i present you a few screens and a video of the map.
i´m going to show you more screens in the next days to present you the different terretories.
The Story:
when i startet with the map i had an idea of an story, but then the map wents bigger and bigger and now i must think about the story again, to make it larger to create more mission objectives. so if you have any ideas or possibilities you can write them.
Short Overview:
Here is a minimap of the map there you can see the different areas. i have marked them to show you better the different parts of the screens.
sry for the quality of the minimap, i´ll improve it later.
here are a few first screens. a lot of more screens will follow in the next days, to present you the different areas of the map in detail.

In this topic i´m going to make a little directory of the different areas and there you can find them in the thread in detail. the number is the same than in the minimap overhead.
1. Open oniferous forest with large mountain stream and waterfalls: Klick
2. Small Way with many rocks and a wunderful view: Klick
Pick a file to download. Obviously the silent pack essentially makes it so there is no music in this map and the quieter version makes the music... quiet.
Simply go to your crysis\Game\Levels\TheResort folder. Inside that folder you will see the "level.pak" file. Either move that file to a different location (i.e. your desktop, some randomly created folder in an alternate location) or delete it and replace it with the "level.pak" file from the rar file you just downloaded. Start the game, enjoy.
I love the way you detailed the riverbed with rocks, and the overall placement of this

1. Open oniferous forest with large mountain stream and waterfalls:
it´s a large open coniferous forest with two rivers and waterfalls. this is also the place there you start the map. from this area you have also a nice view to the other areas of the map.

here are the next two areas:
2. Small Way:
this is only a small area of the map. it´s a short rocky way to the next bigger area, the plateau. you can also see the comer areas, which you´ll visit in the course of the Map.
3. Plateau with two large waterfalls:
this is the second big area. it´s a plateau with grass, rampant cliffs and two very large waterfalls. because of them, you can see this area from nearly every point of the map.
i hope you like the screens. sry for the many informations and screens, but the map is very big and the different areas nearly finished. you can give feedback to them.
every day i´am going to present one or two new areas. so stay tuned.

many many thanks that you like the map and the screens.
@thebusdriver: i don´t know when it´ll be released. actual i have most of the terrain and the environment sounds, but all the stuff for a story, like flowgraphs, enemies, weapons, cutscenes,.....are missing. i try to release the map before crysis warhead comes out.
the performance is very good at the moment. i have most of the time 40 or more fps with high details on 1440x900.

the best areas, i think, are allready missing. i´am going to show you screens, in the next days.
i don´t write tutorials. i have only written one tutorial in german about putting environmentical sounds with shapes and ambient volumes in a map (http://crysis.4thdimension.info/modules....showpage&pid=72).

i really know what you mean, but it´s hard to make the ToDs like in your image, but i´ll try^^
in my last map (Cold Mountain Cold Mountain) i wanted to do the same, but only the lake went very clear.
i´m not sure, if i can make the water reflections of the lake, like in my old one, because in the old one the lake was a very large river, but now the lake is the water of the ocean, with an other sort of technique. but i´ll try to improve the ToDs. thanks for the illustration.
i hope you can understand what i mean.
here are the two new areas:
4. Feral Layer:
This is a simple Layer, rambling and feral. there are many rocks and trees.
the placement of them is a bit special, so i try to make a few tactical fights.
5. Little Lake with Waterfalls and Forest:
this is a little plateau with a little lake and two waterfalls, which flow into the big lake in the middle of the island. here starts also a little dark forest and a spooky canynon.
i´am going to tell you more about that tomorrow.
Actual i have completet the environmentical sounds of the wind, animals, waterfalls,....
now i´m working on the interior decoration of the houses of the village, which is on the top of the rock (screens on Thursday/Friday).
