[High Poly] Nanosuit
Evening all,
I'm working on some high poly assests based on the crysis nanosuit and need a decent texture for the suit itself
Im looking for a tileable honeycombe texture, maybe with bump and spec maps to suit, much like in the attached image
I have searched high a low and not found anything decent enough to use, other than a basic honeycombe texture i found on this site
Does anyone with photoshop or similar app fancy having a go at making something for me??
Would be greatly appreciated
If you're interested i'll host some WIP shots of my model

Unfortunately i dont have any source images, other than those in the following thread
Photoshop pattern?
I was thinking along the lines of a braided kevlar material with the hexagons over the top, just cant find any decent braided kevlar images!

How large do you want the texture to be? ie. pixel dimensions and real life dimensions. I'll try to use Clivey's hexagon texture as a base.
[EDIT] Here's what I've got so far. I need some feedback about which way to take this texture, before I can continue any further...

Right, quick render as i need some sleep!
Used the image in the diffuse slot then inverted it to create some bump and spec maps, really pleased with the result - let me know what you think
Still got to tweak some of the other materials and finish adding the details to the model
Edit: Just noticed some distortion on the neck, will sort that out tommorow

So, this is going to be better than the old Nanosuit, also has anyone else noticed that when youre in first person, you look down on your body/legs and it looks all crappy and low-res? anyone else...

Just had a look at the file you created and the images are in .dds format which i cant use with max
Can you re-host them in .jpg or .tiff format?
