Better Know a Mod #32 - Crynterstate

Today on our Better Know a Mod #32, we are introducing Crynterstate from Tarmac Studios.

About the Mod
Crynterstate is a car mod with a twist. Think of games like Vigilante 8 and Twisted Metal. The cars in this mod have different abilities, and have their own strengths and weaknesses. While not much informathion is available on the cars themselves, we have a great deal of interesting screenshots to show you.

WIP Screenshots - The Tracks
We have screenshots from several different levels, along with descriptions of each one. Here are a few of the more interesting ones.

Highway to Hell
The basics of this level is it's a highway with two teams, one at each end of the highway, along the highway there will be many car wrecks along with two badly damaged bridges. But this wont be the only way to move through the level, there is going to be a cave/tunnel around the middle area which will lead up from the sea to where the "factories" are.

Deathrace
This is a remade map from Interstate 82 mod made for battlefield 1942.

Cliffside
This Is a Huge Beautiful Battlemap were your going to be able to hit some high speed because of its big area.

Video - Track Preview
The team has also been kind enough to provide a video preview of another map, called The Edge. This is a Multiplayer Battlemap that is located at the heart of all the battles. There are only 2 cityies - the Kingpin home town and the Vilginte hometown, right were it all started. The bridge connecting the 2 citys has been destroyed, making only one way to get across the river - by the Subway Station.

WIP Screenshots - The "Spitfire" Car
We also have a textured render of the Spitfire, which will be one of the cars in the mod.

There are more screenshots available. To view them, go to the forum thread.

RE: Better Know a Mod #32 - Crynterstate

I absolutely love the subway station, especially the train moving through it (even though it's not the kind of train you'd expect underground), it's looking very atmospheric. Leep up the good work.

RE: nice

Thanks all for the comments. Although it says "Crynterstate" that's not the official name of the mod. Still waiting to hear back from Activisions legal department on what we can and can't use/etc from the original game, Interstate 76. Anyway, we continue to work on the mod and as soon as I hear for Activision, we can start posting all the "Interstate 76" stuff. Until then...

...never get out of the car...
