Cry-Alex Assistant Project Manager	Crysis Weekly Update #8 Welcome to the “Crysis Weekly Update #8”, an official status report from Crytek to the world-wide community in order to get you up-to-date on the progress of various Crysis related topics. Today we have two brand new releases for you! The first is the anticipated hotfix 1.21 for Crysis and the second is the availability of Server Documentation. Additionally we have news regarding the anti-cheat situation in Crysis and a status update on critical issues in patch 1.2 critical. Of course we also prepared the second video in our new Crysis Outtakes series. Crysis – Hotfix 1.21 Available The highly anticipated hotfix for Crysis has been approved and is now ready for distribution. The 37MB sized patch for Crysis fixes the known security hole in the game code which causes client and server crashes when playing online. Be sure that you have patch 1.2 installed before, since this is required to apply the hotfix to your Crysis installation. Crysis – Server Documentation v1.4 Out Now Next to the hotfix release we also would like you to know that the official server documentation has been finished and is available for download as well. The document has received a significant re-design to appear in a more structured look and now should be easier to read through. Additionally all important and necessary files have been packed into a self extracting .exe file that should go into your Crysis root folder. The Punkbuster folder has been updated with the latest .DLL and .CFG files that have been created in collaboration with Punksbusted.com and provide the best possible cheat protection in conjunction with Crytek’s internal anti-cheat solution. More information about how to set these files up and more features of Punkbuster can be found in the document. Changelog Added "Basic Setup" section (beginners guide how to get the server running with the least amount of work) Added "Anti-Cheat Protection" section Added "Crysis Internal Anti-Cheat Solution" description Adjusted "Hardware Recommendations" Adjusted "Server Update" Re-worked complete document for a better readability and understanding. Re-worked "Advanced Setup" section Updated "Standard Server Settings" Updated "Launching the Server" Updated "Punkbuster" description Updated "Server Command List" Crysis – Anti-Cheat Status About 40 cheaters have been added to our ban list that you can find in the dedicated server package. These cheaters have been caught since the release of patch 1.1 and have been detected by both Punkbuster and Crytek’s internal anti-cheat solutions. With the new Punkbuster .DLL files and the updated .CFG files we will continue improving our support against cheaters and prevent them from playing on game servers. Additionally Punkbuster will receive more frequent updates that include the latest hack and cheat detections for your PB server. In addition we strongly recommend having a look at the server documentation and getting your own game server streaming to Punksbusted.com. This will allow you to have an additional Master Ban List including the latest available bans that are exclusive to PsB servers. The cheaters on this list have been detected by the game servers that stream to PsB (Punksbusted) and thus cannot play on any of these servers anymore. Crysis – Patch 1.2 Situation Since the release of patch 1.2 we have been eagerly collecting all kind of feedback from the community. It includes positive feedback about the latest changes and new features, but also constructive criticism and error reports. Currently we are working on a to-do list that includes the most critical issues that appeared in patch 1.2. We would like to address them as quickly as possible. These issues include things like server lags, server crashes, client disconnects, random FSP drops and a few more. So we definitely are aware of the current situation when playing Crysis online and we already started working on the problems. We will keep you posted as soon as we have further progress for you. Additionally we expect the server crashes, client disconnects and kicks to be reduced significantly as soon as the server hosts have updated their Crysis game servers with our latest PB configuration which is included in the Server Documentation v1.4 package. Video Series – Crysis Outtakes #2! Welcome to the second part of our outtakes videos from Crysis. With each weekly update we are going to release a “Crysis Outtakes” video that has been made by our development team after the game has gone gold. We had a good laugh by watching these videos and we do not want to keep them back to you. The second video of the series is about a critical rescue mission to save the surviving of the eggs. Enjoy! ollyluck Beginner	How long will it take for servers to update ,i can join any servers at the mo,and i cant uninstall the patch

H0VER Trained Modder	I hope you (Crytek) will tell your official Server Hosters like K-Play, 4netplayers etc. to set up their server after the Server Documentation 1.4, because even unmodded servers do lag and crash more often than with 1.1. greetz -Nap

(-CAINE-) Beginner	Great news! A side note, are you guys also taken in consideration the removal of the grenade indicator for enemy's? This 'feature' turns out the be as predicted by many of us ahead. Being able to see, even through walls, enemy throwing a grenade so you just can wait and not enter the room for example is just plain stupid. Please remove the indicator or make it only visible for teammates and not enemy's! __________________

GameFrame Trained Modder	I like this update, especially hotfix and information that Crytek is working with current issues. I will apply this hotfix to my crysis-server right after this post. I presume all clients will need to update this hotfix as well or is this just needed for server only? Public banlist is good, 40 bans is better than nothing. But i can honestly say with my server about 3.5 months uptime, we have banned manually over 500 cheaters. __________________ R.i.P

Sepha Trainee	Aha! Hopefully those bans are not just name bans, and are in fact client/IP/login bans and so on and so forth. I have strongly suspected that the vast majority of serious hacking and cheating going on in Crysis is from a small group of people, and hopefully, this will deter them.
