And I wonder if they'll give us those assets to play with?
Lots of good cars there!

A lot of people don't understand that CE2 was built for the next-generation hardware, not this generation. So what a lot of people are playing Crysis on doesn't give the engine what it deserves. You see things like this and you start to understand.

How come it runs on our hardware then? Thats just blabla really, the engine is there for current technology and you can put as many lights in that every hardware crumbles like with any other engine, just that Cryengine is better visually and its the fastest imo.
I wonder if we get the assets from the video btw.

When Crytek showed us that video, they didn't say anything at first, they just ran it. Everyone thought it was some VFX shot until they told us it was a demonstration of CryEngine2. I have a background in photo-realistic rendering with renderers such as mental ray, VRay, etc. but this completely blew us away. Crytek is ahead of their time as far as I'm concerned. Then they added icing to the cake when they announced the new XSI Cryexporter plugin and even showed us a demonstration courtesy of Leonard Teo from Softimage. It's really amazing what both companies are working on behind the scenes.

*shrug* Anyone who's had experience with this engine knows it's capable of doing stuff like this. It kind of impresses me on how smooth they were able to make it run real time, but that's about it. I know this engine is top of the line and can do alot of revolutionary things, so this isn't really news to me.
All the "holy craps" were drained out of me when I first played Crysis and made a movie out of it
