I don't mean for this to be a rant post but I do have to voice how annoying that was to get this thing to install. I mean, reinstalling the game just to get the patch to install is a HUGE pain in the butt.

Agreed. EA keeps screwing up. I have seen problems with BF2, BF1942, C&C3, C&CG, Crysis, and who knows what other EA games I had.

Yeah, can't really be called a patch, when you have to re-install the whole game.
What's with all the file validating? Ok, you don't want to patch pirated installs, just check the executable, not the whole damn crysis folder.
I'm on vista64, and the patch fails happilly, meaning it does its validation, reports successful installation, and hasn't changed anything. It hardly seems worth the bother to re-install the whole thing.

I was getting the same problem. I reinstalled the game and the patch worked.
The 64 bit version of the game still won't work! The beta worked. I thought the 64 bit version would be working with this patch. Am I wrong?

Does anyone still have v1.0 to see if my theory is correct that this was making my patch barf?
Also, I didn't keep the default Start Menu items either. I only kept Crysis shortcut into my customized Games Start Menu group.
BTW, I am using Windows XP Pro. SP2 with IE6.0 SP2 and all updates.
I also tried deleting my Crysis profile (C:\Documents and Settings\Ant\My Documents\My Games\Crysis\), but that didn't help either.
I did check out the .msp file (v1.1 patch) with Orca to see anything interesting. Not really interesting except the patch was compiled on 12/17/2007 11:36 PM.

My new save games do not work. They either load me at the beginning of the game (opening cutscene), or load the level with enemies empty handed, myself missing a gun or two, and all sorts of graphical glitches.
And this was after a fresh installation and completely new saves.
This patch has caused more issues than it has fixed.

Can you please post your game.log? Also did you apply the patch correctly and maybe tried a re-installation of the whole game?

wow... A lot of people are getting errors and errors installing the patch, and when they actually manage to install it, it has alot of bugs!
I tried to install the patch yesterday, and it didn't worked, it seems I have to reinstall the game first, (because i have changed my configs), to be able to install the patch, which honestly i think it's bull****, what does one thing has to do with another?
I'm having second thoughts about installing this thing though, since It's so buggy!

well don't just uninstall the game. always backup your mods or levels you created. also back up the crysis folder in my documents\my games.
in addition to re-installing the game you also can try to repair it first. it worked for many people who where able to apply the patch after reparing their crysis installation.

I have the same issue and I'm using the Special Edition DVD, no crack, 100% real. I tried a fresh install, deleted all previous save games and Crysis related data. I even left out my mods.
Sometimes when I reload a save, it's just a black screen, sometimes I'm standing their with no weapons or ammo, sometimes it restarts back at the beginning of the game, sometimes it loads just like his images above, sometimes it reloads with a wierd "double vision" and all types of clipping issues.
The save games just aren't working....I'm forced to go reinstall Crysis and pass on the patch until this issue can be addressed. Very disappointing.

Installed patch with fresh install of game no problem there.
Problems I do have are.
Saved games load but NO guns on enemies.
Vehicle's have no ammunition
Enemies recognize you but do not do anything but look at you and talk.
With new profile and start of new game,it is fine, until you die, then each reload of the last save you are dead.
ALso on any start of new game if I hit space bar at intro screens goes black with just voices.
Only tried 169.04 WHQL drivers
169.13 beta drivers
169.21 WHQL drivers
169.21 omega driver
Open to suggestions to try something different.
Reinstalled game three times.
With and without saves and different drivers.
Running 7900 GTX SLI with Windows XP SP 3
Couple screens

New save games.
I think I just solved it. You mentioned above that since he was using a crack, that was his problem. Well, I wasn't, but I figured that maybe the .exe was now messed up. I extracted it directly from searching through the DVD, and now everything seems to be working. My new saves that I thought were screwed up now work fine.
It's strange...did the patch replace/alter/screw up the recognition of the Crysis.exe?? Everyone else I know that has this same problem, with new saves and not using a crack....oddly enough, has the Special Edition version. But I don't believe the .exe's are any different (correct me if I'm wrong).

The .exe files for both SE and retail version are identical. It is weird that your save games and Crysis does work with the Crysis.exe from your DVD since the .exe files got patched as well.
Can you explain what you did in detail? First you installed Crysis, then Patch 1.1. Afterwards you applied the old save games and then copied the .exe file over from the DVD?

I discovered one thing you DON'T want to do.
1. Install a fresh copy of Crysis.
2. Patch it
(Discovered that the AI Triangulate crashes SB2)
3. Go to the control panel and select Repair Crysis
(should maybe re-run the patch too but didn't)
4. Open SB2 only to discover there is now No trees, vehicles, grass buildings etc.
But the plus side is GPU benchmark registers a 30 FSP increase!!!
Well going to delete and reinstall again and NOT patch it till things are fixed.

Ditto. I did it through Add/Remove Programs to use Crysis's setup for Repair. It looks like the v1.1 patch did not like me removing E:\winstuff\crysis\Support\!
Question: Why is Crysis patch so picky? If it wants that stuff, just force install it again.
